Polygon and Wanchain have released an announcement about their strategic partnership for the further launch of the Layer 2-to-Layer 2 bridge and the development of blockchain interoperability. This partnership is to improve the adoption of Layer 2 cross-chain bridges which enhances the solution of Polygon.
Polygon is the leading platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development which improves in offering scaling solutions for developers. Wanchain will implement direct decentralized cross-chain bridges between Polygon and Arbitrum to strengthen Polygon’s position as the top Ethereum scaling and infrastructure solution. Polygon’s increasing array of solutions, including Polygon Hermez, Polygon PoS, Polygon SDK, and Polygon Avail, will benefit from this Layer 2-to-Layer 2 bridge.
Wanchain is the world’s first decentralized blockchain interoperability solution. It is the only project that allows completely decentralized cross-chain transactions between separated diverse blockchain networks and unites the world’s isolated blockchain networks. Moreover, the partnership with Polygon’s Layer 2 bridges strengthens the reputation of Wanchain as the most leading cross-chain solution.
Vision Of Blockchain Interoperability
Both the entities share a vision for the development of decentralized blockchain interoperability where this partnership marks to be the first decentralized liquidity pool to support cross-chain bridges. People believe that numerous Layer 2 solutions will coexist, and that different Layer 2 blockchains will have to allow assets, data, and orders to flow directly from one Layer 2 blockchain to another in protecting the value of scaling solutions.
This collaboration seems to be a significant step for the blockchain industry as it moves closer to decentralized cross-chain function calls. Besides, this approach is substantially different from Wanchain’s previously formalized Lock-Mint-Burn-Unlock approach. Significantly, Wanchain’s VP of Business Development and Operations, Li Ni expresses that when migrating from one Layer 2 to another utterly defeats the better scalability offered by Polygon.
Additionally, the Co-founder of Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal shares about the collaboration with Wanchain. He states that:
“By expanding penetration between Abritrum and Polygon PoS, the cross-chain bridge will promote higher liquidity and usefulness for ecosystem users on both sides while fostering more overall interoperability and growth for the Ethereum Ecosystem”
Wanchain, the Wide Area Network Chain that is the world’s first decentralized blockchain interoperability solution. The platform aims for the vision of accelerating blockchain adoption by creating fully decentralized bridges that connect the world’s many siloed blockchain networks. Developers can use this cross-chain architecture to create genuinely decentralized cross-chain applications that will fuel the future of DeFi.
Polygon is the main Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development platform, and it continues to improve in terms of providing scaling solutions for developers. The solutions include L2 solutions (ZK Rollups and Optimistic Rollups), sidechains, hybrid solutions, stand-alone and enterprise chains, data availability solutions, and more. Polygon’s scaling solutions have been widely used, with 3000+ applications hosted, more than 1 billion transactions completed, over 100 million unique user addresses, and $5 billion or more in assets secured.
